About Price History Yid

Hi, I'm Shlomie, from Rockland County, New York. I got tired of “deals” that are only deals because the list price was raised the week before. So before anything goes on this site, I look at the item's actual Amazon price history over the past months and ask three questions:

  • Is it really marked down? The price has to be well below what the item usually sells for, not below a made-up list price.
  • Is it near its low? It should be at or close to the lowest it has been recently, with no suspicious spike right before the “drop.”
  • Is it worth buying? Only known brands with strong reviews from a lot of buyers. No no-name sellers.

If an item fails any of those, it doesn't get posted. Most “limited time deals” fail. And when a posted deal stops being real, I take it down.

What this site is not

This isn't a price tracker. It's a short, hand-checked list of things I'd buy myself, with a plain explanation of why the discount is real. Prices move, so every price is dated and the Amazon page is where the current price lives. If you want the new ones as they pass, get the weekly email.
